FAQ

What is Yahoo Creators?

Yahoo Creators is a new program where established writers can publish directly on Yahoo.com to monetize their content through a competitive 50/50 ad revenue share from ad placements. With streamlined tools and Yahoo's massive reach, creators can tap into an audience of over 100 million monthly U.S. visitors* and be featured alongside the world’s leading publishers.

What are the eligibility requirements?

To be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Be a U.S. resident over the age of 18
  • Have a minimum of 5,000 followers on at least one eligible platform (Medium, Substack, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube)
  • Demonstrate exceptional writing skills, including originality, style, and topical expertise
  • Be a creator of written content with a distinct perspective in one of our target categories:

    • Fashion and beauty
    • Fitness
    • Home and DIY
    • Humor
    • Parenting
    • Travel
    • Wellness
    • Food and recipes
    • Nature
    • Astrology

Please note: Meeting these criteria does not guarantee acceptance. Applications are carefully evaluated from a highly competitive pool, and only a select number of creators will be invited to join at this time.

How can I apply?

You can submit an application here. Be prepared to share a few of your favorite story samples for review.

What type of content are you looking for?

We are currently looking for creators of written content. Our platform supports multimedia embeds (videos, podcasts, etc.), but right now we’re highlighting creators who lead with strong written perspectives.

How do I make money?

Yahoo Creators can earn money through our ad-supported platform with a 50/50 ad revenue share. Creators can also take advantage of e-commerce benefits, including an 80/20 split on affiliate revenue, favoring the creator. There are no monthly fees or paywalls.

When and how will I get paid?

To participate in the program and get paid, you must have a Stripe account in good standing. There's roughly a 45-day processing and payment period for each month, with earnings calculated from the first to the last day of the month.

What can I do if my application is rejected?

If you were rejected because you did not meet some of the eligibility requirements, you are welcome to reapply in six months as long as you then meet the requirements. If you were rejected because your content and/or application violated our policies or standards, you are not eligible to reapply.

Can I republish stories on Yahoo that I’ve already published on other platforms or websites?

Yes! Content does not need to be exclusive to Yahoo, so you can leverage Yahoo’s audience in addition to the platforms that you may currently use. We suggest adding to, revising or updating your stories to ensure originality for Yahoo readers.
